Dear Property Directors Forum Members
We are delighted that so many of you were able to attended our Property Directors Forum on 8th June and debate on the Current drivers and initiatives in sustainability.
As promised, we have created a short Executive Summary of the discussions and presentations for you to download. Just click on the links below:
The Forum’s main conclusions are as follow:
- Occupiers should work together with peers and share best practice, to minimise uncertainty and prepare for ‘business unusual’ that the increasing drive for sustainability is bringing to the built environment.
- Occupiers need more long-term thinking, better cost justification, more clarity on legislation, universal language and approach to measuring the effectiveness of sustainability, as well as use of technology and its benefits, to ensure appropriate planning can be carried out.
- Occupiers may need to bring in external advisors to help them put sustainability on the corporate strategy agenda.
- Health, wellbeing and productivity of employees is still high on the Agenda and will become even more important with the arrival of younger generations that require greater flexibility and collaboration.
We would like to thank you again for your lively contribution on the day.
